*Ahem* We may need a new mic system.

Hello, I am David Gornoski. I have served as Publisher of VGMWatch.com since the site’s inception in 2005. This position has largely involved content direction, staff management, and site development. Writers Kyle Orland and Dan Dormer have provided the bulk of regular articles. However, after much thought, we are undergoing a major rehaul of how we approach the staff team at VGMWatch.

Effective immediately, I will be serving as Editor-in-Chief of VGMWatch.com. This is not a shake up whatsoever. Rather, for the sake of updates, I am simply going to be taking a much more active role on the editorial development side of things. Being a freelance journalist, Mr. Dormer has had a hard time devoting enough attention to effectively delivering a regular flow of content. Kyle Orland has suffered similar time straints in the past. However, both have done a stellar job in the time they’ve been able to provide.

In addition to writing for VGMWatch, I will continue to serve as CEO of parent company E-mpire Ltd. Co. That is why I’ll be needing regular help in keeping track of the wonderful world of video game journalism. There are countless media events to cover and stories to investigate. The plate’s rather full. That’s where you may come in.

*Paid positions are now open. The original vision for VGMWatch.com included the notion of a volunteer institution writing for the love of the industry. Well, after a few hiring sessions, reality kicked in. People want a monetary reward for their articles. VGMWatch.com is no News Corp or MTV/Viacom, but we will be offering competitive pay-per-article rates for journalists interested in becoming contributors. For more details, e-mail me at davidg@vgmwatch.com. Expect to see new (and old) faces appear on the pages of VGMWatch.com in the future.

*Send tips. As you may know, there are a lot of stories taking place in the game media. The industry is only growing. We know many of our readers are journalists for various media establishments. We also know we have many concerned game consumers as well. We want to hear from all of you. Please send us story tips whenever you find them. Don’t be afraid to rock the boat; source anonymity is granted per request. Make a difference in the game media. Again, you can e-mail me at davidg@vgmwatch.com.
